Have you ever experienced Pregame anxiety?
Studies have shown that 67% of all athletes experience pregame anxiety!
What could prevent you from feeling this way before your games and events?
Confidence is most certainly something that helps combat that feeling of uneasiness prior to tip off or kickoff.
How do we develop confidence? Say it with me... REPS!!!!!! (This includes MENTAL Reps)
Preparation is Key!
As Hall of Fame baseball player, Hank Aaron, says
"Its all about how a man prepares himself to do battle."
On the MENTAL side, practice playing the game before playing the game!
This means using visualization and imagery techniques to prepare the #Mind&body to play.
While visualizing yourself playing, be sure to incorporate all 5 of your senses!
Taste: The flavor of your gum, the salt in your sweat.
Smell: The popcorn and hotdogs from the concession stand.
Hear: Fans in the arena, the buzzer, the PA announcer, the referee's whistle, the umpire.
See: The ball coming to you and you making the play, your coaches and teammates.
Feel: The bat in your hands, the basketball you're dribbling, the catch you're making.
Through It All... WIN!
